Terms of Service
Effective date: September 25, 2026. These Terms replace the Terms dated April 9, 2026.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of internality.org and its member area (together, the "Site"), operated by Internality, a Michigan nonprofit corporation recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code ("Internality," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Organizational purpose
Internality is organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, with a particular focus on informing, educating, and engaging business leaders on how to manage business enterprises in ways that maximize positive social and environmental impacts while eliminating negative externalities. All programs, content, and services offered through the Site are provided in furtherance of this mission.
2. Eligibility
The Site is intended for people who are at least 18 years old and able to enter into these Terms.
3. Accounts
Member accounts are by invitation. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity under your account, and you agree to tell us promptly at hello@internality.org if you believe your account has been used without your permission. Invitations and accounts are personal; please do not share them. We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms. You may ask us to close your account at any time; closing an account does not cancel a recurring gift or subscription, which you can cancel as described in Sections 9 and 10, with or without an account.
4. Use of the Site
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to: violate any applicable law or regulation; transmit material that is defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, or otherwise objectionable; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, its servers, or connected systems, including other members' content; use automated means (such as bots or scrapers) to access or collect data from the Site without our prior written consent; or interfere with the Site's integrity or performance.
5. Intellectual property
All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, images, frameworks, methodologies, recordings, software, and other materials, is the property of Internality or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, or otherwise exploit it without our prior written permission, except as these Terms or applicable law allow. Members may view and download materials made available to them for their own participation in Internality programs. The Internality name, logo, and related marks are trademarks of Internality and may not be used without our prior written permission.
6. Your content
Private uploads. Some parts of the Site let you upload files privately, such as company documents in a Pivot Lab. You keep all rights to them. You give Internality only the limited permission it needs to store them, show them to the people you and the program allow (for example, colleagues from your company and Internality staff), and keep them secure. We do not publish, share outside those permissions, or use private uploads for any other purpose without your written consent. You can delete your uploads at any time, subject to the program's rules while it is active.
Feedback and public posts. If you send us feedback or ideas, or post in a public or community space on the Site, you give Internality a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, adapt, and publish that content in connection with our mission and operations.
In either case, you confirm that you have the right to share the content and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
7. Confidentiality of program participation
Certain Internality programs involve the sharing of proprietary business information among participants. By participating, you agree to treat all information shared by other participants as confidential and not to disclose, reproduce, or use it outside the program without the express written consent of the disclosing party. Specific confidentiality obligations may be set out in separate program agreements, which control if they differ from these Terms.
8. Programs, events, and fees
Internality may offer programs, workshops, forums, Pivot Labs, and other events through the Site. Participation may be subject to additional terms, eligibility requirements, fees, and applications, which we will tell you about at registration. We may modify, reschedule, or cancel any program or event. Fees and any refunds are governed by our Refund Policy (internality.org/refund-policy) unless a written program agreement says otherwise.
9. Gifts
Gifts made through the Site are charitable contributions to Internality and are used at Internality's discretion to further its mission, unless we agree in writing to a restriction. We send a receipt for each gift. If you choose a recurring gift, you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method on the schedule you selected until you cancel, which you can do at any time from your account page or by emailing giving@internality.org. Refunds of gifts are covered by the Refund Policy.
10. Speaker Series subscription
What it is. The Speaker Series is a paid subscription for individuals that gives access to live sessions and a members-only archive of past recordings, captions, and transcripts. It is a purchase of a service, not a charitable contribution, and it is not tax-deductible.
Automatic renewal. YOUR SUBSCRIPTION RENEWS AUTOMATICALLY EVERY MONTH, AND WE WILL CHARGE THE PAYMENT METHOD YOU PROVIDE THE MONTHLY PRICE SHOWN AT CHECKOUT (CURRENTLY $50 PER MONTH) UNTIL YOU CANCEL. We charge you when you subscribe, and then on the same day of each following month (or the last day of a shorter month). There is no minimum term. At checkout you will be asked to confirm that you agree to these automatic renewal terms. Your renewal date is shown on your account page and in each receipt.
How to cancel. You can cancel at any time, and you do not need to speak to anyone:
- Online: sign in at internality.org/account and choose Cancel subscription; or
- From any email: use the Cancel my subscription link in any Speaker Series receipt or reminder. It works even if you have not set up an Internality account; or
- By email: write to giving@internality.org from the address you subscribed with. We process emailed requests within one business day and confirm by email.
To avoid the next charge, cancel before your renewal date.
What happens when you cancel. Cancelling stops all future charges. You keep access until the end of the month you have already paid for, and your subscription then ends. We do not refund the unused part of a month, except as described in our Refund Policy (internality.org/refund-policy). Closing your Internality account does not cancel your subscription.
Receipts and reminders. We email a receipt for every charge, showing the amount and how to cancel. At least once a year we also email you a reminder of your subscription, its price, and how to cancel.
Price changes. We may change the monthly price. If we do, we will email you, no less than 7 days and no more than 30 days before the new price takes effect, with the new price, the date it takes effect, and how to cancel. If you do not cancel, the new price applies from your first renewal on or after that date. If you are charged the new price and did not want to continue, you may cancel within 14 days after that charge, and we will refund that charge in full.
Other changes to these subscription terms. If we make any other material change to the terms in this Section 10, we will email you the change and how to cancel no less than 7 days and no more than 30 days before it takes effect. The change applies from your first renewal after it takes effect.
Access. Your access is personal and may not be shared. We may change the session schedule, speakers, or format, and we may remove recordings from the archive, for example where a speaker's permission ends. If we cancel a month's session and do not reschedule it within that month, you may ask for a refund of that month's payment, as described in the Refund Policy.

11. AI tools
The Site includes AI tools (such as Guide, Inquiry, and Explore) that answer questions using Internality's materials and other sources. Their answers are generated automatically, may be incomplete or wrong, and are provided for informational and educational purposes only. They are not professional, legal, financial, or investment advice, and you should verify anything important before relying on it. How we handle what you type into these tools is described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Recordings
Speaker Series sessions and some other events may be recorded and transcribed. Recordings are made available to subscribers and participants as described at registration, and may be used by Internality in furtherance of its mission. If you do not want to appear in a recording, you may keep your camera and microphone off or contact us before the session. Speakers participate under separate written agreements.
13. Community conduct
In the forum, discussions, and live sessions, please be respectful, stay on topic, and honor the confidentiality of fellow participants. We may moderate, edit, or remove content, and suspend access, for conduct that violates these Terms or undermines the community.
14. Payments
Payments on the Site are processed by Stripe, Inc. By making a payment you also agree to Stripe's applicable terms. Internality does not store full card or bank account numbers.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, MATERIALS, INFORMATION, AND SERVICES PROVIDED THROUGH IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INTERNALITY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Internality does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Content on the Site is for general informational and educational purposes only and is not professional, legal, financial, or investment advice.
16. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INTERNALITY AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR ANY PROGRAMS OR SERVICES OFFERED THROUGH IT, UNDER ANY LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. INTERNALITY'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID INTERNALITY FOR A SUBSCRIPTION OR PROGRAM FEE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) IF YOU PAID NO SUCH AMOUNTS. GIFTS ARE CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS AND ARE NOT AMOUNTS PAID FOR THIS PURPOSE.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Internality and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.
18. Third-party links and services
The Site may link to third-party websites and services, including the forum host, video and meeting providers, and our payment processor. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
19. Changes to the Site and these Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site. We may revise these Terms by posting an updated version here with a new effective date; for changes that materially affect subscribers or members, we will also notify you by email. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms. Changes to the Speaker Series subscription terms take effect only as described in Section 10; continued use of the Site alone does not accept them.
20. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Kent County, Michigan, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the state where you live.
21. General
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver; any waiver must be in writing and signed by Internality. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and any additional terms for specific programs or services, are the entire agreement between you and Internality about the Site.
